Airing on: HBO We asked readers to speculate about what might happen to Tony, his wife and children, and his gang. Our deadline was before last Sunday's episode, so contestants didn't know that several major characters would eat some lead before the finale. Few readers predicted that Tony would exit our lives on a happy note.

Our favorite entry connected the world of the New Jersey mob to Cape Cod. Bill Hapeman of Hyannis wins the prize, a $50 gift certificate from the Italian restaurant of his choice. (Remember, Bill Nuovo Vesuvio, the eatery owned by Tony's friend Artie Bucco, does not really exist.

) Here's a sampling of entries: The New York City mob orders a hit on Tony Soprano. They hire an attractive, out-of-work actress - Miriam Boxer. She poses as a diamond broker who travels frequently between London, Boston and New York.

She meets Tony "by chance" in a bar he frequents and they hit if off immediately; he is smitten. She claims she owns a vacation home on Cape Cod and invites him up for a long weekend. Miriam makes reservations to dine at a fine Italian restaurant in Hyannis.

During dinner, Tony begins to choke and requires the Heimlich maneuver, but no one in the establishment is able to wrap their arms around the giant mobster. During Tony's last moments, he recognizes two members of a rival mob who have come to the Cape to carry out the hit. He makes eye contact with them, and both parties realize he's a dead man regardless.

Miriam, real name Trinka Elwinger, vanishes, and is never seen or heard from again. Epilogue: Tony's wife, Carmela, tries to live down persistent rumors that she had knowledge of the hit. Bill Hapeman of Hyannis Tony retrieves the paper at the end of the driveway, his white terry cloth bathrobe hanging open to reveal his hairy belly.

Walking back to the house he scans the front page, filled with the news of the slayings of Silvio and Paulie. He pours a cup of coffee and gazes out the kitchen window just as a pair of ducks lands in the backyard pool. He wonders if he has the muscle to hold the New Jersey family together.

Carmela heads out with A.J. and Meadow.

They glance at Tony with a look of pity and exit through the front door. Seconds later in their luxury SUV, Carmela turns the ignition key and the vehicle explodes in a fiery ball, blowing out all of the windows in the front of the house. Shards of glass shower Tony, cutting him in a thousand different places.

Epilogue: Tony sits alone in the Bada Bing. All of the patrons are gone; the last of the dancers left through the back door. An untouched glass of expensive single malt whiskey is on the bar in front of him.

He knew it was coming and without surprise his chest tightens almost beyond belief, the pain shooting through his body. He knocks the glass of whiskey to the floor, grabs at his chest and collapses with a massive heart attack. The Bada Bing flashing light illuminates his wide-open dead eyes.

The Sopranos family has come to a fitting end. Kevin McCarthy of Pocasset Phil Leotardo whacks Tony's son, A.J.

, to avenge his brother Billy Leotardo's murder at the hands of T's cousin, Tony Blundetto. Tony Soprano whacks Phil and the majority of the N.Y.

family at a planned New York City hotel execution. Tony has a dream about Doctor Melfi: She might know too much. He has her killed in a staged robbery outside her office.

The feds drop the RICO case and all associated investigations against Soprano for his assistance in stopping a major terrorist plot against the U.S. by the two individuals that T identified as they were customers of the Bing.

On to Adriana ...

Silvio's DNA was found on her body after it was discovered by a construction crew in rural N.J. Sil flees to Florida.

Tony sends Paulie Walnuts down to whack him. Meadow gets pregnant and marries the son of Patsy Parisi; ironically she, too, is a wife of the mob (like her mother). Tony and Carm are very upset, but they seem to be happy just to have her in their life after the tragedy with A.

J. Tony Soprano becomes the head of all crime families and is surrounded by his revised crew, Little Carmine Lupertazzi, Hesh Rabkin, Bobby Baccalieri (Janice Soprano's husband), Paulie "Walnuts" Gualtieri and Patsy Parisi (Meadow's new father-in-law). The stage is set for a "Sopranos" movie in 2009!

Ciluzzi of Centerville Tony realizes he's on the outs with the New York mob, which is putting the squeeze on him, and even his own crew is getting a little put off. His son is having big troubles, Tony's getting shorted on the construction job along with Carmine, the heat is on. He dodged a bullet once and knows it probably won't happen again.

The terrorists are tied to his racket, thanks to Chris. He got rid of Chris, who was a threat, and he needs to do something about the shrink. She has some doubts about being taken for a ride based on her psychiatrist's comments that she's a danger to turn on him.

The best-case scenario for good old Tony is to turn state's evidence with the help of his daughter and her new lawyer boyfriend, tossing the whole lot in and going into the witness protection program. That also leaves the door open for him to show up on "Law Order.
