Mandy Moore Finds 'Hope' in Self-Discovery Posted Jun 29th 2007 12:00PM by Steve Baltin At the age of 23, Mandy Moore is the throes of self-discovery -- and that suits her just fine. She attributes much of her newfound introspection to her latest album, 'Wild Hope,' on which Moore co-wrote all of the songs. "I feel like I have real perspective now," she tells AOL Music.
Going through some personal things -- being really confused, sad, heartbroken -- whatever the particular issue was, I listen back to some of these words and I think, 'I really was a lot stronger than I gave myself credit for at the time.' The title of the record really resonates with me a lot more now." Moore has been quick to discard her previous albums, save for 2003's 'Coverage,' as standard pop fodder, but hopes this record will give her and fans alike a fresh start.
"People think of 'Candy' and the stuff that I did when I was 15 or 16," she says. "But I really wanted a shot at a clean slate. I knew what influenced me and I could see the direction I wanted to head in.
