Parents honored - February 2007 was designated as National Parent Leadership Month. The Concho Valley Family Alliance, a project of the Children’s Advocacy Center of Tom Green County, recognized 20 parents who have demonstrated leadership roles in their homes and communities. Those awarded at the banquet held at Western Sky Steak House included Rosita Palos, Buffy Berry, Dolly Camarillo, Lecia Swallow, Mario Aguilar, James Stell, Ashley Garduno, Monica Garcia, Gloria Ramirez, Nicole Owens, Jeanette Payne, Carolina Solis, Manuel Rivas, Albert Luna, Jolie Barrera, Sandra Borrego, Rosie Cano, Amy Herrera, Christina Hopper and Lupe Muniz.
