The couple, who already have a one-year-old daughter Suri, are moving into a new $US35 million Beverly Hills mansion next month and are converting one of the seven bedrooms into a nursery, seemingly in preparation for a new arrival.
A source told Life and Style Weekly magazine: Tom told Katie how much he loves their little girl and how he wants to have another baby when she s ready.
She told him she s ready.
And in his typically enthusiastic fashion, Tom s moving full steam ahead preparing for a new arrival.
Katie, 28, has made no secret of her happiness at becoming a mother.
The actress, who gave birth to Suri in April 2006, says motherhood came easily.
She said: I love it! Suri is doing really, really well. She s a beautiful little girl.
I feel so honoured to be her mom, really.
Tom Cruise s protective streak is showing in his latest attempt to keep his precious wife Katie Holmes safe. The actor reportedly rented a set of houses for Katie - one to live in and the others to keep prying eyes away - while she films the movie Mad Money in Louisiana, despite the fact that Katie had already rented another home near the film s cast and crew.
According to Star magazine, Katie initially rented a house near the Mad Money set in the Southern Trace neighborhood of Shreveport. But Tom did not want Katie to be so vulnerable and instead insisted that Katie move into a gated community further away.
An insider tells Star, He wants Katie and Suri to be away from everyone!
Not only has he apparently rented the second house in the North Cross section of Cross Lake [another posh neighborhood 20 minutes from Southern Trace], but he s also rented out the houses on either side to make sure they have their privacy.
Katie is not backing down on this issue, though. Sources claim that she stays in the house Tom rented while he is in town, but as soon as he leaves, she moves back into the Southern Trace house.
Rumours are circulating that Katie Holmes is enjoying the company of co-star, Adam Rothenburg, a little too much during the filming of her new movie.
The story centres around a picture showing Holmes and Rothenburg in a cosy embrace on the set of their new film, Mad Money, currently shooting in Louisiana.
An insider, says, “They shot a scene in which Adam wrapped his arms around Katie’s waist, then the two of them had an intimate discussion.
They lingered after the director said ‘cut,’ and it got everyone talking.”
If Holmes is enjoying her time away from creepy Cruise and his Scientology brainwashing, then good luck to her.
Since returning from honeymoon it appears that Dawson s Creek star Katie Holmes has been doing nothing but spending lots and lots of money - to the great annoyance of husband Tom Cruise.
Things reached a head on Katie s last visit to Barney s department store in New York, where the diminutive actress spent £100,000, even treating Victoria Beckham to a pair of expensive shoes.
Grazia magazine has claimed that Katie is bored at home, thus the heavy spending, which is why Tom is now trying to crack down on her extravagance.
He certainly doesn t have to worry about money and Katie is not on a budget - it seems he just doesn t want people thinking she is frivolous and all about shopping and money a source told the magazine.
The Golden Globe nominated actress is in final talks to replace Holmes as Rachel Dawes in the ‘Batman Begins’ sequel.
Director Christopher Nolan revealed that he was extremely happy that Gyllenhaal was coming on board, and that he was looking forward to working with her.
I m extremely excited to work with an actress of Maggie s calibre, and she s a great addition to the cast, Contactmusic quoted him, as telling The Hollywood Reporter.
Shooting for the sequel is scheduled to start in spring this year, with actor Christian Bale returning once again as the caped crusader.
The film is scheduled to hit theatres in 2008.
Holmes’ publicist had earlier revealed that that “scheduling conflicts” were the reason why the actress would not be reprising her role in the successful flick.
The actress opted to join Queen Latifah in Mad Money, a project being financed by Nu Millennium and Granada instead.
Will Suri Cruise soon be a big sister? Rumor has it that Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes have been shopping for baby goods for a boy.
But with Katie preparing to start filming her comeback, the movie Mad Money with Diane Keaton and Queen Latifah, is she really ready to pack on the baby weight again?
According to TMZ.com, a confidante the Holmes-Cruise clan recently went to Katie s favorite baby boutique, Petit Tresor in Los Angeles.
A snitch on hand at the store said that the confidante asked Petit Tresor staff to prepare four designs for a nursery for Tom and Katie. The confidante allegedly told the store s staff, We want to be prepared for a baby boy, and asked for the room designs to include sports, nursery rhyme and cartoon motifs in the color blue. The store was told to have the designs ready by April 15 and were given a budget of $45,000.
Meanwhile, until recently, there was a registry under the couple s names on the Petit Tresor website. The list was created in December and includes several pricey items including a $1,000 baby boy gift set, $680 bedding and a $495 polka dot rug. The couple also asked to be given a wooden cutout of the letter A.
Cruise s rep told MSN s Hot Gossip, None of [it] is true, referring to both the commission for and the registry with Petit Tresor.
Katie Holmes definitely wants to have more children with husband Tom Cruise and says she fell in love with the actor from the moment that I shook his hand for the first time.
The actress, who married Cruise in a fairytale wedding in November, dishes about the actor, her daughter Suri and her career in the March issue of Harper s Bazaar.
I have a husband and children that I adore. I have a career that I really love. When I sit back and reflect, it s-wow!
I am very grateful, she tells the magazine. Tom makes me feel like the most beautiful woman in the world and has since the day I met him. I love being with him.
I love calling him husband.
On her first date with Cruise: Here in Los Angeles, my first motorcycle ride…to the beach. It was amazing and fast.
I was in love from the moment that I shook his hand for the first time.
On motherhood: I felt so proud to be having a baby and so excited. And I felt closer to other women-to my sisters, to my mom.
I felt empowered, like I ve given birth. I did it! There s nothing I can t handle.
I ve really enjoyed this time that I have taken to be with Suri as well as the challenges of the first couple of months: feeding and pumping, learning to decipher what each cry means-is she hungry? Is she tired? Does she need a fresh diaper?
And figuring out how to really help her.
On her career: I have a whole new set of responsibilities. My work is very important to me.
My family is very important to me. When I go to work, it will be the right thing, worth my time and worth my time away from my family.
•On her figure.
I have always loved to run, and it has now helped me lose the extra baby weight.
