It's the stuff of Hollywood dreams for the Sydney boy, who was able to move to the US only after winning a green card immigration lottery in 2000. He now splits his time between Chicago, where he films , and Los Angeles, where he lives with wife Rebecca and their children Joseph, 8, Audrey, 6, and twins Lily-Rose and Augustus, who turn four on Saturday. Soaking up the sun at Disneyland in LA with his family last week, the muscle-bound hunk said: "It's great here but on days when the sun is shining I just miss Sydney.

"I think about the beaches and the sea and the surf and how I'd love to be back there for the summer. "It's impossible at the moment because I have so much work on. "It's hard to be so far away but I'm looking forward to the new series of and I've got more films in the pipeline.

"I do want to get back for a trip as soon as I can. I want to take the kids back, too, so they can get to know Australia. "They love living here and they have grown up here, but Australia is still kind of their home.

" Purcell, 37, was born in England but moved to Bondi with his Irish mother and Norwegian father when he was two. He grew up in Penrith and trained alongside fellow Aussie actor Hugh Jackman at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts before cutting his teeth in Australian television roles. Last year he was named magazine's sexiest dad and one of the sexiest men alive, alongside Brad Pitt and George Clooney.

Not bad for a TV jailbird. It's the stuff of Hollywood dreams for the Sydney boy, who was able to move to the US only after winning a green card immigration lottery in 2000.
