'TIS WORDS FROM TIS: The Tallahassee Irish Society launches its "In Praise of the Spoken Word" series with an evening of music, poetry and prose at 7:30 p.m. Saturday in the upstairs space at Chez Pierre, 1215 Thomasville Road.

The inaugural event features music by Paddy Go Easy, performances of ancient and contemporary Irish literature, a "sing song" and a menu of traditional Irish food and drink. There'll be a $5 cover charge. Call 322-4008.
