TELL us your objections to planning applications, Spilsby town councillors appealed to residents at their meeting on Thursday.

After the Standard featured an article about strong objections to a proposed housing development on the Vale Industrial Estate last week, councillors said they wished people had told them about their concerns before they had recommended the plans for approval at their April meeting.
Coun Phil Odlin said: "We are asked for our views so if people have views themselves perhaps they should bring them to us before we make our decision.

"

Councillors then criticised East Lindsey District Council for not placing Spilsby's development as a high priority despite the fact they had recommended the application for approval.

Coun Peter Grant raised concerns about the application because he felt mixing housing and industry could never work and thought it could harm the expansion of industry in the town.

He said he thought ELDC had let the town down because the industrial estate did not seem to be developing.

Coun Michael Clarke said: "I would like to invite ELDC officers here because they have obviously never been.
"Basically they stick to the coast and Louth and that's it.
