'Zephyr' here, and while this update may not be nearly as large as that mammoth one last week, I figure these warranted it. Also, there's two particular release dates that have troubled me: "Daddy Day Care", the pseudo-sequel comedy starring Cuba Gooding Jr. in the title role, has moved up to a Wednesday date: August 8th, 2007.

However, the 3rd and 10th of August have become somewhat diluted with comedies. In fact, the whole month of August has THIRTEEN comedies ranging from fantasy, family, action, romantic, and sports. Long titles are getting popular again.

"The Assasination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford," a western drama starring Brad Pitt, Sam Rockwell, and Zooey Deschansel, finally has a release date, albeit a really crowded one. It'll roam into theatres on September 21st, 2007. I do recall some production trouble, so is this taking the advantage before the holiday or a lack of confidence in the film?

As well, it may have to face the high-concept Bob Dylan biopic, "I'm Not There." Though it will premiere at the upcoming Cannes Film Festival, a U.S.

release date has been tentative at best. IMDB.com claims that it's coming out September 21st, 2007.

..however, you can understand my skepticism.

I figure if it does well at Cannes, it should get a better Oscar date. Another film release date is one for "American Dog." Both Wikipedia and IMDB list the Disney CGI Animation film to release on July 4th, 2008.

Certainly a great date for any movie, and it could act as a counterchoice to the darker "Tonight, He Comes." The probelm: "Wall-E," Pixar Animation's mysterious silent sci-fi feature, comes out a week before on June 27th, 2008. So I'm positive this will be debunked eventually, especially with the recent production shuffle it went through a few months back.
