Is Winnipeg filmmaker James Swirsky On the Lot? See if you can spot him when the moviemaking reality TV show goes to air with two audition episodes next month. Swirsky is one of 27 Canadians who auditioned for the Steven Spielberg/Mark Burnett produced series that will see 50 aspiring filmmakers from around the world go reel-to-reel in Los Angeles.

After facing celebrity judges -- actor Carrie Fisher (Star Wars) and directors Brett Ratner (X-Men 3), Garry Marshall (Pretty Woman) and Jon Avnet (Fried Green Tomatoes) -- 18 contenders will go on to to compete for a seven-figure deal with DreamWorks in later episodes. Swirsky was flown to Vancouver for an interview last month after his short Jannie Bananie Quit Smoking caught casting directors' eyes. CTV won't say whether he made the cut, but if he did, we might be able to catch him when On the Lot premieres May 22 and 24 on Ch.
