I'm not in the habit of watching "Law Order: Special Victims Unit," but I was home and it was on and Christopher Meloni is too darn good-looking -- you know how it goes. Anyway, in Sunday night's episode, the BLPDE (Best-Looking Police Detectives on Earth, Meloni and co-star Mariska Hargitay) find out that the 16-year-old girl (Misti Traya) who's been dating the high-schooler who gets murdered isn't actually 16. And how do they find out?

The doctor who treats the grieving girlfriend, who's been hit by a car and is severely injured, tells Det. Olivia Benson (Hargitay) that the girl's teeth couldn't possibly belong to a teenager. You could have knocked me down with a feather.

First, I thought it was only horses whose age you could tell by looking at their teeth. And second, isn't it illegal for a doctor to divulge that kind of information on a patient? I mean, yes, the young woman had been committing fraud for 10 years, conning various cities into feeding and housing her through foster care, but what happened to doctor-patient confidentiality?

I bet it all came down to insurance and who was footing the bill for the woman's hospital care. Share this post: Digg It! | Add to del.
