Eve is insisting she's not a Ruff Ryder. The rapper/actress's attorney entered a not guilty plea to a charge of driving under the influence in a Los Angeles courtroom Tuesday (May 22).
The charge stems from an incident last month, during which Eve allegedly crashed her gold Maserati into the centre divider on Hollywood Boulevard.
During her late-night arrest, she was allegedly found to have a blood alcohol level of .08 or higher. The rapper, who's due back in court on June 28, faces up to six months in the slammer if found guilty, reports People magazine.
Eve's arrest confused gossip watchers after actor Sean Penn showed up at the police station in the middle of the night offering to bail her out. But the rapper insists the odd pair wasn't trying to blow our minds.
"There's no craziness going on.
I've known him for years," Eve told hip-hop site sohh.com. "We got mutual friends.
He saw what was happening and he just wanted to make sure I was cool.
