Hey there the coffee is on

Hey there the coffee is on . I am here you are here cho We might as well we have a little chat while we wait to get a cup, nuh true? Hey, I had said that I was going to be doing a little project where I posted a photo a day for 365 days, but I have gone off track already and it hasn t been even two weeks yet!

As suggested in a comment, projects like that will mad you, and like how is Mad Bull me name, I don t need to get any more mad than I am already! I think that I am going to modify the rules of this project. I will still be posting 365 photos.

They will still all be taken by me, or taken of me, or taken with my camera. They will not necessarily be taken every day however. Thats just crazy!

I don t know how I thought I could manage that when I started! Maybe that will work, what do you think? Lets run with that for a while and see how it goes, seen?

So, lets talk about this picture. Its a picture of one of the many banks on the island. I have heard how many banks there are, but the figure escapes me now.

It was over 500 though, I believe. Anyway, this is one of the bigger banks and it also does commercial banking. Most of the banks here don t do commercial banking.

No, I am not going to bore you with a lot of banking information. No, that is not the bank where I work. No, its not the bank where I have my mortgage.

I bet you re wondering why I have a picture of this bank up then, right? Well, its because of the photo project. That is the only reason!

That is why I am going to change the terms of the project. Sometimes you just don t have an interesting picture available to post, or if you do have an interesting picture (as I do) you just aren t ready to post it yet! See what I mean?

There are still a couple of interesting things to discuss about the picture, even though its so random. This picture was taken with my new camera, and it was taken through the windscreen of my car. I was sitting in traffic on my way to work and I was borderline-late so you know that the traffic was frustrating the ra$$ out of me.

That picture is taken at a spot that is very near to where I work, and that is just up the road from . See! I can find something interesting in this picture Here are a few more things about the picture .

Do you notice that crane there in front of the bank? Yeah, there is a construction project going on. Hell, there are construction projects going on everywhere in Grand Cayman!

These cranes are everywhere! Hell, when I go out riding on jetskis, they marked the area I was to ride within using cranes! The guy said, You are to ride out beyond that green buoy.

Stay out there so as to avoid swimmers. You are not to go further from the shore than that white buoy, and you can go down the beach to the left until you are about in line with that crane. Looking down the beach to the right, you can ride as far as those buildings with the blue roofs.

No, not that second set down by that crane, the first set, ok? All right, you re all set. Lets go get you on a jetski.

. Here, if you , you will see the second crane the jetski guy was referring to in the background of the picture in that post Yeah, there are cranes everywhere. Another interesting feature of the picture - Isn t the sky beautiful in that picture?

As you can see by the water on the road, it had rained the night before, I don t know if that is why, but the sky was just a particularly beautiful shade of blue that morning. That was definitely one of those days where you wish you were going to the beach instead of work. Another thing I found interesting was the lightpole in reality, that lightpole sticks straight up in the air, but in the picture it looks like it is bent.

I have noticed things like that in many of my pictures. Why the hell does that happen? I suppose this is one of those things that I would know the answer to if I had done high school physics past third form.

There is so much interesting shit you learn in physics over the years I have come to realise this. Its just a pity that I didn t know this back when I was choosing my subjects back in third form! People, if you are in the position to advise kids who are choosing subjects in high school, tell them not to drop physics.

About the final interesting thing I can see in the picture is that little house down there to the righthand side of the picture. This house is interesting. My guess is that it has been there for ages.

It was probably there from when George Town was much less developed. Its owner hung tough when the companies were buying up land in George Town and voila, thaere you have it. One little house in the middle of the business district.

Something else thats interesting about the house is its colour scheme. Look, pink, grey and blue. Yeah, you have to look really closely.

I should probably have made the picture bigger, but when I sized it, the picture wouldn t fit on the page. Anyway, thats almost the same as the colour scheme that the Tower of Babel had before I cut it over to Wordpress. Here, you can go and then come back here and look at the picture.

Almost the same, see? My blue is a different shade, but other than that, they are very similar. An anonymous commenter was taking me to task recently over that colour scheme, but it seems I am not the only person who likes it.

Nyah nyah nyah nyah nyahhhhhhh, Mr. Anonymous Commenter! Did you notice that I have changed the theme of this blog again?

I decided to change it specifically to facilitate the photo project, actually. I have been finding that I had to resize all my photos down too small for my liking in order for them to fit into the previous theme, so I searched around for another theme which gave the blog post area more width. That is also why I moved the Tower to the theme that it uses, for the width so that I can display bigger pictures.

I think that a picture is really worth a thousand words, don t you? Of course, the way I have been running on at the mouth, you probably would never suspect that I felt that way, would you? One more thing .

Wordpress 2.1 is out. I have upgraded to Version 2.

1 at The Mad Bull s Blog and I plan to upgrade the Tower s software next weekend. I will tell you all a bit about the fun new features when I spot them! So many changes I have discussed in this one blog entry the blog s theme, the changes in George Town as it became more built up, the change in the Wordpress software and the changes in the rules of the photo project.

I think I will call this post Changes . It seems to fit. By the way, when we started this little chat, we did say it would be a chat , didnt we?

Well so far I have been doing all the talking and I don t think thats fair, do you? I mean, I just know that you have been dying to get a word in edgewise. Come on, your turn.

Say something please? Pretty please? Pretty please, with sugar on it?

Yeah boi! That there is the place where the Lions hang out by day. At night, they go out to hunt!

As a matter of fact, the Lions go hunting tonight! Yes sir, the Men s team have their first game of the season tonight at nine o clock against Deloitte. I am not playing (you mad or wah?

With my knees?) but I plan to go watch them play still Its going to be interesting because they lost two of their better players. No, I am not including myself in that number, silly!

Hey, make SURE you go check out my last post at the Mad Bull s Blog, you know, there is a nice picture there for you to see Just click the link above for Previous Photo Hey, I always tell Jamaican jokes, don t I? Well, today I heard a really good Caymanian joke, so ah it oonoo a go get right yah now! A young woman in Grand Cayman was so depressed that she decided to end her life by throwing herself into the Caribbean Sea .

She went down to the dock and was about to leap into the water when a young sailor saw her tottering on the edge of the pier, crying. He took pity on her and said, Look, you have so much to live for. I m off to America in the morning, and if you like, I can stow you away on my ship.

I ll take good care of you and bring you food every day.
Moving closer, he slipped his arm round her shoulder and added, I ll keep you happy, and you ll keep me happy. The girl nodded Yes, After all, what did she have to lose?

Perhaps a fresh start in America would give her life new meaning.
That night, the sailor brought her aboard and hid her in a lifeboat. From then on, every night he brought her three sandwiches and a piece of fruit, and they made passionate love until dawn.

Two weeks later, during a routine inspection, she was discovered by the Captain. What are you doing here? the Captain demanded.

I have an arrangement with one of the sailors, she explained. I get food and a trip to America , and he s screwing me.
Okay, I know you might not get it if you don t know Grand Cayman.

Hey! What a gwaan? This is a picture of a small part of the Crichton s garden all festooned in lights for the Christmas.

Thye must really have Christmas spirit, bwoy. Trust me, there are so many lights, all over the garden that they have to hire a bucket truck and many people to string them up! God knows why they go to the trouble and then they allow the public in to look around at the display?

! Interesting I have some more of these, maybe I will give you a couple more not today though!
If you guessed that I didn t make it to the Jetski race today, you would be right!

Why didn t I go? Cho The sun was too hot for me, y hear! Plus, I just wasn t feeling the vibe.

I did take the little one out to ride jetskis yesterday though! I took him to the Hyatt hotel here on Grand Cayman. We rented a jetski there for half an hour.

I let MBJr. steer and give the jetski the gas yesterday it was his first time! He did okay, though he was a bit light on the press still!

I mentioned this to Natty when I got home and do you know what she said? Don t worry. If you keep it up, by the time he is fourteen, MBJr.

will probablay be racing in the East End Surf Challenge himself instead of just being a spectator. She might just be right! For sure, I won t miss out on going to watch the races then!

We ll just have to see though, won t we?
By the way, came along with me to the Hyatt and I bought us both a pina colada You done know I was shocked to hear my bill was $20 and some change! Basically, thats CI$10 for a single pina colada!

I do believe those where the most expensive drinks I have ever bought! They are not too bad if you are renting jetskis, but don t go there to have a drink, seen!
Here is some required reading on the Evo Prototype X that I came across in Here is some of the car.

I guess I need to start putting all my quarters into my piggy bank instead of into that stinking vending machine at work, huh? Also, I probably need to brown bag it more, nuh true? At least I have until 2008 to get my funds together.

Yes, I am accepting charitable donations! By the way, I happened to see the movie yesterday, on HBO, I think What a show lie, eeeh? Still, it was damned exciting anyway!

Owen bigged it up a while aback but I didn t get to see it then. Well, yesterday I was around to a bredrin s house for a brief stop. I was returning a pickaxe I had borrowed (to sink the pole for this satellite dish that I just bought), and I was also asking him to drop by my house to help me align the dish.

He flipped on to the movie and that was it! I stayed and watched the whole thing! Good show!

If you haven t seen it, try to scout it out .
Here is a familiar sight here in the Caribbean! This is a picture of the Cayman Prep High School s steel band working out on a truck back during the recent Pirates Week float parade.

What with Carnival coming up, we will have PLENTY of opportunities to observe scenes like this. This is day three of . Well, its Wednesday, 17th of January, 2007.

This day newly dawned brings us closer to many things, both expected and unexpected. A couple of the things I am looking forward to with high anticipation are PAYDAY (January certainly is Ben Johnson month!) and a letter from my workplace telling me that I have completed my probation!

When both my letter and my cheque are in my hands, I will be a happy man! Unfortunately happiness is so transient once I have those, I will probably immediately set my eyes on some new goal and will be in a state of flux until that goal s distant horizons are reached. We humans are so hard to please, aren t we.

They had an interesting set of questions over at the yesterday not necessarily questions that I would go on and on about, except maybe the Main Course question, but questions that I felt like answering nevertheless, so here goes:
What comes to mind when you see the color orange?
Holland. The , to be precise.

Did you ever get in trouble while you were in school? If so, what was it for?
Oh Lord!

Of course In preparatory school (thats a privatized primary school in Jamaica) I mostly got in trouble for chatting in class and for not doing homework. In high school, I got in trouble for chatting, mischief making and distracting the class and for fighting too, a couple of times.
Which topping(s) make up your perfect pizza?

This is a mood question, as different moods make for different perfect toppings, but mostly I like ham, green pepper and pineapple. prefers the pepperoni to the ham, so thats what we usually have.
Do you believe in UFOs/aliens/etc.

? Why or why not?
I believe that there could definitely be life out there.

Why? Thats a wierd question! If God created us, why might He not have created other beings as well?

There is no reason He wouldn t, I mean, after awhile we d probably get a little boring and so He d probably want some other playthings with different characteristics, etc. After all, thats what we must be like to Him, right? Or maybe some kind of pets, like fish in an aquarium whats to stop him from having two or three tanks of fish?

Look how many planets are out there!
And if you subscribe to the big bang theory or whatever they are calling it now, why would this random occurrence have haoppened only once? With so many universes, galaxies and planets, mightn t this almost unbelievable, most fortuitous happenstance (where all the factors were right for all of us from amoebas right on up to eventually just appear on Earth) have occurred at least once or twice elsewhere?

So yeah, I believe its possible. I haven t seen any though
What color is your bedspread/comforter/quilt?
So there you have it.

I have answered the Friday Five. Why don t you go and do it too? You know you wanna!

Anyway, there are other posts below, and there is fresh stuff over at the and the . Knock yourself out!
Hi all!

Here is a familiar scene. You have a little crash here in Grand Cayman and the emergency response people are everywhere, and traffic is snarled, and you sit and sit and sit, and you creep and creep and creep.
Do you know that this was not a major, major accident!

I am sure that no one died, or was pinned in a vehicle or anything yet look at the number of emergency vehicles that responded! Not that I am knocking it. Its just that I was not accustomed to such a prepared-for-anything response.

In Jamaica, you are lucky if you get one police car. Sometimes a wrecker comes to tow away the car, and that probably depends on which cop responds to the scene, because some of the cops own wrecker companies and they will force you to tow away the car to put a little money into their pockets After all, you think that they are going to call a wrecker belonging to a competitor? No effing way!

But ambulances? Fire trucks? Multiple cop cars?

No sah! Doesn t happen!People haffi dead for ambulances to show up, and I have never seen a fire truck.

Check out these ladies having a good time out on the town somewhere in Cayman! It looks like it was an awesome night! Look at how everyones mouth was agape.

Obviously one wicked song was a play! It have the whole ah dem ah bawl out!
Still, when I saw this picture I was reminded of some chicks in a nest, waiting on the mother bird to come feed them, especially the threee rightmost girls.

The one in the front was too busy ah sidung pon it , so she would get what lef when the mother bird was sharing out the food, but ah nuh nutten, she lookin good same way Mek her gwaan ride di riddim !
I got this picture from the website, its a website I just came across, its sort ve like the site, so I now have two sites to steal get interesting pictures from to post up for oonoo
I like that, cuz I can t be everywhere to get the goodies for you myself, yu seet!
Bwoy, I went to bed after 3:00am and I am up already!

No rest for the wicked, I suppose Anyway, since I was up, I thought I would check on my blogs a bit I will try to get some more shuteye a little later, because today is going to be interesting. I have two airport pickups (one @ 01:45pm and one @ 08:00pm) and I am going to ride a Wave Runner @ 04:00pm. The day is looking pretty active already!

Anyway, I read something interesting over by Chief Lymer this morning still! Apparently they have a competition called X-Factor over in Britain which it seems is something like American Idol . that Leona Lewis, who won the X-Factor competition, made sound like a failed backup singer well, that is simply not possible, so I knew this was just an exaggeration, but I decided to see if I could find anything on on the Net, see if I could hear her sing Boy, did I!

? Leona Lewis won the X-Factor competition on December 16th and by the Christmas Eve, the song she won with was number one! Now that is success for you!

Go to to hear her sing A Moment Like This . If you want more info on her,
Since we are on the subject of music, Natty I took MBJr. to see yesterday it was excellent, way better than I had expected, and there is a ton of music in the show good music.

I bet they are selling a soundtrack album too I must check it out. Anyway, the movie Happy Feet is Mad Bull Recommended , my peeps! Do go and see it, even if you aren t taking along a picney.

Its great!
Hey, there are probably a couple of new posts here since the last time y all dropped by, so give them a gander, ok? There has also been some activity at , and there is a new cute, cuddly puppy picture (see the picture link over on the lefthand side of the blogpage ) to give a gander to everyday over by the , and today, there is not just one puppy pic but fourteen!

Start the year off right by sifting through everything thats my suggestion.
