KYLIE Minogue's so-called mystery man has made a fleeting visit to her home town. Calvin Harris, 23, electropop producer and UK music's next big thing, was in Melbourne yesterday to talk up a new album and hose down an alleged affair. Most recently, Harris was cast in the British press as the comforting arms Kylie ran to after she split with love rat Olivier Martinez.
Newspapers noted that 39-year-old Kylie and Harris spent a long time in each other's company. Yesterday, Harris revealed those sessions resulted in an upbeat pop tune about relationships. He refused to elaborate.
Harris relished his media image as Kylie's mystery man. But he denies they are an item. I became aware when it was on the front page of the newspaper, Harris said.
It was funny, but so far from the truth. It was a joke. Harris and Kylie collaborated late last year when her relationship with Martinez was on the rocks.
Harris submitted tracks to Kylie's album project. He said Kylie's new songs address her fight with breast cancer. Minogue described the recording sessions as remarkably laidback , he said.
