One of the stars of "Saving Private Ryan," actor Tom Sizemore was taken away in handcuffs Tuesday after he surrendered to face a court hearing on charges that he violated probation in a drug case by his recent arrest for possessing methamphetamines. Sizemore, 45, in a loosened tie, got out of a convertible in front of Los Angeles County's Airport Courthouse. In court, he was ordered held pending an afternoon hearing to determine if he should be granted bail and when his probation violation hearing would be held.
Sizemore was arrested last month at a hotel in Bakersfield. Authorities said they found drugs in his car. He was released but a Los Angeles judge later issued a warrant for his arrest for violating probation in another methamphetamine case.
If convicted, he could be forced to serve out a 16-month sentence. In the Bakersfield case, Sizemore has pleaded not guilty to seven drug-related charges, including transportation and possession of methamphetamines. He faces up to six years in prison if convicted.
