Movie Network Channels and AFI have cemented a deal which names MNC an Official Media and Exclusive Subscription TV Partner of: the AFI Australian Screenings; AFI Nominations Announcement; and the AFI Awards for 2007 - 2009 inclusive. This is a major sponsorship and partnership agreement, which includes the AFI's 50th year celebrations in 2008. The deal grants MNC the rights to exclusive 2nd run broadcast to the 2007 - 2009 AFI Awards on MOVIE EXTRA (1st is Channel 9), and combined with a range of other benefits and opportunities, it will make MNC the most comprehensive source of AFI coverage on either free to air or subscription television.
Other highlights of the deal cover: - Promotional association with, and editorial access to: the AFI Australian Screenings; the festival's opening nights; and the AFI Nominations Announcement - Rights to program a month of AFI Award-winning films on Movie EXTRA, endorsed and supported by AFI - Access to the AFI Industry Awards and AFI Awards for the production of additional content for inclusion in re-broadcast of the Awards on MOVIE EXTRA Movie Network Channels has previously aligned itself with several key film industry events, such as SONY Tropfest and the MOVIE EXTRA Filmink Awards, and this latest partnership is further reflection of the network's culture of not just broadcasting film, but also actively supporting film.
